CSC | “MetaFi The CoinEx Smart Chain” Hackathon Concluded: A Quick Review of the 11 Award-winning Projects
MetaFi The Coinex Smart Chain, the second global hackathon hosted by Coinex Smart Chain (CSC), was successfully concluded recently.
The MetaFi hackathon was launched on DevPost and lasted 9 weeks from August 10 to October 12. Funded by CSC, the hackathon’s prize pool features $100,000. The campaign offered funding and support to blockchain developer teams and provided a platform for technical discussions. During the hackathon, CSC received over 40 MetaFi-themed projects submitted by the participating teams, covering blockchain applications in genres that include metaverse games, GameFi, NFT, art VR, board games, sports games, lottery, etc.
The 8 professional judges of the hackathon are from the blockchain technology team and the blockchain product team of CoinEx and CSC. While screening and evaluating all the participating projects, the judges worked hard to examine and test the works submitted and scored the projects after comprehensive assessments based on the principle of openness and fairness.
Of the projects submitted, most entries feature many highlights in terms of technical backing, project concept, and user experience. After careful review by the judges, the MetaFi hackathon eventually awarded prizes to 11 teams that will receive all-encompassing support from the CSC ecosystem. Gold:
Planet2nd
Planet2nd is an MMORPG metaverse and 3D mobile game engine that combines DeFi, GameFi, and GuildFi. Players can create their own games, interact with others, fight battles, or play social casino games. Planet2nd is also a UGC platform, which provides users with tools and 3D materials on PC and mobile apps. Users can build 3D content or mobile games without any programming knowledge.
Silver:
CSC PocketVR
PocketVR is a DApp that allows visual artists to create private virtual reality galleries where each painting is an NFT owned by the artist. Galleries can be accessed by a regular link using virtual reality capable browsers, including Meta Quest, Pico, Valve Index, HTC Vive, etc.
Meta Gallery
Meta Gallery lets users build a beautiful 3D gallery to display all of their NFTs. Users can transfer collections in Opensea into a 3D version gallery or mint their own NFTs with Meta Gallery’s marketplace.
Bronze:
Nomad Tycoon
Nomad Tycoon combines the traditional board game model with virtual reality to create an enjoyable game that can be played by everyone in an immersive manner. It provides a great experience as users get the experience of building their own empire and turning their character into a business tycoon.
Socio Funverse
Socio Funverse is a small Web3 fun world game, where users can play missions, talk with each other, earn ERC-20 game tokens, and visit other users’ fun worlds.
Runner Ups:
Galactic War
The project mixes NFT, Game, and DeFi. Players can create their own base and loot other bases to earn Aureus, the in-game token of Aureus.
FootieSZN
FootieSZN is a fantasy football game in which participants assemble an imaginary team of real-life football players and score points based on those players’ actual statistical performance.
Mint Lama
Mint Lama is a tool that enables anyone to create and deploy an NFT collection without coding knowledge.
Crypto Lottery
In Crypto Lottery, which is similar to the Powerball lottery in the United States, players must choose numbers in the DApp. When a round ends, players can claim a reward from the smart contract instantly.
Charla
The goal of Charla is to take what Twitter started, and leverage the power of blockchain to ensure that everyone has a voice and cannot be silenced.
Trankers
Trankers is an online “play-and-earn” game, where players shoot turrets and enemy tanks to increase their score. The more players score, the more tokens they will earn.
