CoinEx DEX Code Will Soon be Available on GitHub
Following the successful “Atlantis” hard fork upgrade on the CoinEx Chain, on April 3, 2020 (UTC + 8), Haipo Yang, the Founder of CoinEx Chain, announced in an interview that the CoinEx DEX code will soon be available on GitHub. Blockchain developers and communities who are interested in DeFi and DEX are invited to join the review and development of CoinEx DEX and build a true DEX together.
“I think that free software is the most essential feature of blockchain projects. The blockchain world can be decentralized because of open source, so that new projects can become stronger, faster, and easier to use. Therefore, for CoinEx DEX, open source is not an option, but mandatory,” said Haipo.
CoinEx DEX is not only a block-centered exchange, but also a free software that gives it greater vitality through community collaboration. Through open source, the CoinEx Chain team hope that more people could participate in the construction of CoinEx Chain ecosystem.
”We hope that CoinEx DEX will eventually achieve full community operation. The nodes of CoinEx DEX are all built by the community. The official team did not set up nodes, which is our first step,” said Haipo.
CoinEx Chain is the world’s first DEX dedicated public chain, developed on the Tendermint consensus protocol and Cosmos SDK. It supports digital asset transactions and Defi applications based on the smart contracts with a high performance.
CoinEx DEX platform was launched simultaneously with the release of CoinEx Chain’s Mainnet. Equipped with such functions as asset on-chain, on-chain transactions, and on-chain matching, CoinEx DEX allows users to control their private keys. By doing so, it can avoid the single point of failure brought by centralized exchanges and improve security and transparency, for which centralized exchanges have been widely criticized. With assets under users’ control, a fair on-chain matching algorithm based on orders and real-time sending and trading of digital assets, it is renowned as a transparent, secure, and high-performance DeFi application platform.
At the same time, during the Atlantis hard fork upgrade in March, such functions as the token creation threshold, Bancor function and wallet were greatly optimized to further improve the CoinEx DEX trading experience.
“I believe, with the current performance and transaction experience, CoinEx DEX can be regarded as one of the best decentralized trading platforms in the industry, but still one step away from the real DEX. The real DEX needs open source code. I am glad we will eventually take that step soon,” said Haipo.
In fact, looking back at the open source track of CoinEx Chain after the release of its Mainnet, it’s clearly that the team is committed to the blockchain spirit from the very beginning by gradually releasing its source code.
On November 12, 2019, the CoinEx Chain team published the code of the CoinEx Chain cold wallet to GitHub.
On January 9, 2020, the CoinEx Chain team announced the release of source codes of codon and onvakv.
On April 3, 2020, the team announced that CoinEx DEX code will soon go open source.
The team’s “open source” spirit can be traced back to September 27, 2017 when Haipo uploaded the transaction engine code of ViaBTC, the predecessor of CoinEx, to GitHub. Today the code has more than 2,200 Star and 1,300 forks.
Decentralization represents the most important spiritual concept of the blockchain. The blockchain community features mutual trust, which is based on the consensus mechanism. For blockchain projects, open source code is the best way to achieve transparency. After all, it is the commitment to the spirit of the blockchain that defines a real blockchain project.
